I published a book last spring. The first for this series, and I named it Stollen Kisses.
Silly me, I thought English-speakers would know what a stollen was. (My perception might have been skewed by the five years I lived in Germany.) If you're not sure, a stollen is a sweet bread made in Germany (and I'm told it's becoming very popular in the UK as well.) It usually has dried fruit in it, and often a marzipan filling, then it's topped with a thick layer of powdered sugar. It's traditionally served at Christmastime.
Unfortunately, a lot of people thought I'd misspelled the title of my own book!
My solution was to retitle (and republish) the book as Stolen Kisses with the second L in a different color. It seems to have worked–readers can tell it wasn't a mistake! You can see both covers below.
