After attending a book marketing conference in Las Vegas, my business manager (aka Dave, my husband) and I decided to put our audiobooks on YouTube. Now, we haven’t invested in professional audiobooks yet—they’re quite spendy—so we decided to read them ourselves. Over the next few months, Dave and I will be uploading the Stolen Hearts of Rotheberg “read (badly) by the author and her husband.”
Why would we do this? It seems some authors are making a decent income on YouTube. (Plus our kids will be so jealous if we become YouTube famous.) Our goal is to make enough to hire a professional narrator. My science fiction novels are narrated by the amazing Rachel Music, and I’m hoping to hire her to do the romcoms as well, someday. In the meantime, you can listen to Dave and I read them. It’s better than having Alexa do it!

We’ve got three or four up right now, and will be adding more every few days. Once we hit 4000 hours ‘viewed’ and 1000 subscribers, we can “monetize” the channel and start earning enough to hire Rachel.
